Artist Collaboration Hub

DTLA Edition

Murals, exhibitions, and youth storytelling—powered by Majestic Art Gallery and ScholarShare 529.

Majestic Art Gallery partners with local artists and galleries to bring community stories to life through murals and exhibitions, while supporting families on their journey toward higher education savings.

DTLA serves as the epicenter, with collaborations extending into the Arts District and Boyle Heights as the program grows.

The Big Idea

Public art that lives in the streets—and in the gallery.

The Artist Collaboration Hub is a professional, community-rooted collaboration model where:

  • A local artist creates mural-based work inspired by youth and families in the surrounding neighborhood

  • A local gallery serves as the cultural hub, hosting and selling the original works

  • Majestic Art Gallery facilitates youth engagement, programming, and storytelling

  • Families are introduced to ScholarShare 529 as a simple, welcoming way to begin saving for higher education

Artwork is sold through the gallery using standard gallery practices. The gallery pays Majestic the commission on each sale, and Majestic shares that commission with the artist, while directing its portion of proceeds to help support education savings for participating youth and families.

This is not charity art. It is collectible, commissioned work grounded in real community narratives and supported by partners who believe art can move both culture and opportunity forward.

How it Works

  • Majestic leads artist-informed engagement with youth and families in DTLA (and surrounding neighborhoods), using light-touch workshops, prompts, and creative activities to help shape the artist’s concept.

  • The artist produces one or more public-facing works:

    • Static murals (walls, courtyards, approved public or private sites)

    • Mobile murals (modular panels for pop-ups and events)

  • The partner gallery hosts a curated exhibition featuring:

    • Original works and studies connected to the mural project

    • Limited edition prints and select merchandise (optional)

    • An opening or featured event that brings community, collectors, and partners together

Artwork is sold by the gallery. The gallery issues its standard commission payment to Majestic, which then splits the commission with the artist, ensuring both artistic compensation and community reinvestment.

  • Majestic integrates a brief, family-friendly introduction to ScholarShare 529, helping families understand how saving for higher education can start early, even with small contributions. Proceeds directed to Majestic help seed or support education savings for participating youth and families. This is framed as access and empowerment, not obligation.
