Third Thursdays at Grand Hope Park: Community, Creativity, and Growing Young Minds

Majestic Art Gallery partnered with the DTLA Residents Association, Ketchum-Downtown YMCA, and Arizona State University California Center

to host a vibrant Third Thursdays gathering at Grand Hope Park, bringing families and neighbors together through art, play, and shared purpose.

As part of Majestic’s youth arts activities,

children and families created custom garden tags designed to spark imagination and reflection as the back-to-school season approaches. The activity encouraged young participants to think about growth, curiosity, and new beginnings, using creativity as a way to plant intention and confidence for the school year ahead. It was equal parts fun and thoughtful, a simple reminder that learning, like gardens, grows best when nurtured.

Throughout the evening, the park buzzed with lawn games, music, picnic-style vibes, and meaningful conversations under shaded trees and blooming bougainvillea. Arizona State University California Center helped keep families energized with snacks and beverages from their café, while partners worked together to create a welcoming, family-first atmosphere.

Third Thursdays continues to be a powerful space for connection in Downtown Los Angeles. We are grateful to our partners and community members who show up with open hearts and good energy. Moments like these remind us that when creativity meets community, young minds are inspired to grow.
